Madison College Foundation scholarships have helped more than 32,000 Madison College students to date. By awarding over $11 million in scholarships so far, the Foundation has enabled the success of many students who are now positive leaders in the community.
The Madison Area Technical College Foundation Scholarship Awards
Breakfast took place on April 22 to acknowledge scholarship recipients
for the 2009-10 school year. Recipients had the opportunity to meet and
thank their donors. The breakfast also helped celebrate the generous
contributions of the alumni and friends of the College.
Peter Foy,
President of the Foundation, spoke at the breakfast. Foy led the
College into its first major gifts campaign called Smart Future,
raising $5.3 million for scholarships and projects to date. Following
Foy, Ann Aswegan, RN, MS Ed., who is a 1975 Associate Degree Nursing
alum and Inner Vision and Holistic Health Educator and Dream
Consultant, spoke passionately about giving back to the College. She
went on to talk about the From One Graduate to Another Scholarship she
recently started through the Foundation.
The Distinguished Teacher
Award was also announced to recognize excellence in teaching. The
recipients this year were Luke Matthews, in Anthropology, and Amanda
Schumacher, in Therapeutic Massage.
Donate to next year’s scholars and
show your support of their success. The success of our students means
the success of the community as a whole. Since 1987, more than $11
million in scholarships have been awarded, assisting almost 33,000
students. Thanks to all who attended the awards breakfast and to our
alumni and sponsors for their support. Congratulations to all of the
student recipients this year!
