Madison College President Bettsey Barhorst said
Thursday that she enthusiastically supports the award of funding for
the high speed rail service between Madison and Milwaukee.
"This innovative project will not only spur
further economic development of our region, but also will provide
needed jobs and training for our students," said Barhorst Thursday
afternoon after attending Governor Doyle's press conference.
She said the College will gear up at its Madison
and Watertown campuses to train workers needed to expedite the
construction of the rail system.
Barhorst congratulated President Obama, Governor
Doyle, Senator Kohl, Senator Feingold and Representative Baldwin on
their work to secure this mammoth project for the Madison region.
